Course Description 

Introduction to the doctrine of sin (hamartiology), doctrine of salvation (soteriology) and the doctrine of the end times (eschatology). 

Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course each student should: 

  1. Become very familiar with the biblical passages and verses that support the doctrinal truths that are foundational in the theological areas of sin (hamartiology) and salvation (soteriology) and the last thing (eschatology). 
  2. Comprehend the progression of certain fundamental doctrines of salvation and the deviant positions that have emerged among individuals and groups throughout history and their influence in the contemporary tensions within society and the Church. 
  3. Grasp to some degree the depth the exultation and eschatological hope on the entirety of creation and its implications of new governance of life, in the believer and spilling out of the believer into the world.

  10. Second Temple Judaism and Jewish Apocalyptic Literature
  11. New Testament Apocalyptic: Jesus and Paul
  12. New Testament Apocalyptic: John and the Book of Revelation
  13. Dispensationalism and Millennialism
  14. The doctrine of heaven and hell
